The Landmark Arrian
The Landmark Arrian is a fully illustrated and annotated edition of Arrian's Anabasis, the most reliable narrative surviving from antiquity of Alexander's campaigns. Those familiar with other Landmark volumes (Herodotus, Thucydides, Xenophon) will find the same features here: clear, detailed maps and copious annotations designed to clarify every stage of the action, even for readers with no background in ancient history. A set of 18 appendices and an epilogue further illuminate various aspects of Alexander's life and times. The introduction is by noted Greek historian Paul Cartledge.
